Dr. Cory D. Benson
Dr. Cory D. Benson is the senior pastor of New Wakefield Church. Dr. Benson is a native of Inman, South Carolina, is married to Deidre Y. Benson and is the father of Aliyah Samone Benson. Dr. Benson is a U.S. Navy veteran and also a public educator.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Master of Education degree, a Master of Divinity degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biblical Preaching.
Dr. Benson was licensed to preach the Gospel in 1999 and ordained into the Gospel ministry in 2004. He believes in the word of God, preaches the word of God, and stands on the word of God. His favorite motto is: “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”
Deidre Y. Benson, M.Ed.
Our leading lady, Deidre Y. Benson, is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Lady Benson is married to Pastor Cory D. Benson and is the mother of Aliyah Samone Benson.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences and a Master of Education degree, and works as a public educator. Lady Benson is known for her meekness and gentleness.

New Wakefield Church is on a mission for the Lord, and that mission is defined in Luke 4:18–19.
We are also a church with a vision from God. Habakkuk 2:2–3 tells us to write the vision down plainly, so that it can be read at a glance — and that though it may seem slow in coming, it will certainly take place. At New Wakefield we believe that “if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

What we believe
The ground we stand on.
- 01 We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said, and that He was buried and raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.
- 02 We believe that salvation comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary; that Jesus was crucified, buried and raised from the dead; and that Jesus ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor.
- 03 We believe that Jesus is God incarnated in the flesh.
- 04 We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, and that repentance is required by God and is necessary for the forgiveness of sins.
- 05 We believe that holiness is God’s standard of living for His people.
- 06 We believe that divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
- 07 We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be commemorated.
- 08 We believe that the resurrection and rapture of the true Church of God is imminent.
- 09 We believe in final judgment of the living and dead, and the final establishment of a new heaven.
