Dr. Cory D. Benson is the senior pastor of New Wakefield Church. Dr. Benson is a native of Inman, South Carolina and is married to Deidre Y. Benson and is the father of Aliyah Samone Benson. Dr. Benson is a U.S. Navy Veteran and also a public educator.

Dr. Benson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Masters of Education degree, a Masters of Divinity degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biblical Preaching.

Dr. Benson was licensed to preach the Gospel in 1999 and ordained into the Gospel Ministry in 2004. Dr. Benson believes in the word of God, preaches the word of God, and stands on the word of God. Dr. Benson’s favorite motto is: “If you Fail to Plan, You are Planning to fail!”
